Exploring New Ways to Export Data from Reports

Is there any way to get the data that is represented in a Bridge Geometry Report, other than in the PDF format? Maybe as a csv or xml?

We manually extract the tables used in the report and it takes quite a bit of man hours to do. Our Technology Solutions team has coded solutions similar to what we need, but they have access to APIs or data exports. The PDFs are a tad more difficult to work with programmatically, so just looking for any suggestions.

TIA.

edit... Is this something that can be leveraged in BridgeLink Pro?

In the free version, there currently isn't a feature that exports the bridge geometry to other file formats. Can you provide more information on what details you need?

The Pro version can export a LandXML file. This file contains only the horizontal and vertical alignment data. As Ron said above, please provide more information about what you are looking for.

We basically use everything,

We basically use everything, including the alignment data, Roadway Elevations, Pier Geometry, Girder Geometry, and Bearing Elevations. Our current workflow is to run the Bridge Geometry report, copy the data tables into a spreadsheet, and run calculations/checks/vlookups on the data to create reports that are in a specific format for the client. The process is very time consuming, so we are trying to automate some of the workflow.

I have applied for a trial of Pro so that I can see if that provides any of the data that we need in a different format.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the Pro version also has a geometry report where you can get tabulated geometry data at just about any points you want. We are always looking to improve the software, so if you can tell us the exact data that you need we might be able to generate a report for that in the future.
