PG Splice - Precamber

Is there a reason precamber is not supported for WF95 and WF100 PTG girders? Thanks!

Precamber has not been implemented yet because we haven't had a need for it. Generally, for spliced girders, an effect similar to precamber can be achieved by adjusting the setting elevations of segment ends.

Consider a single span spliced girder with 3 segments. The temporary towers elevations can be high or low to effectively curve the final girder.

Manipulation of temporary tower elevation adjustments and Slab Offsets ("A" dimensions) can be used to achieve a similar effect as precamber.

Thanks Rick. We are using PG Splice in a simple span scenario (WF100PTG) with post-tensioning and no splicing (one very long span). If we were to want to implement precamber, is there a trick to getting PG Splice to factor it in to the deflection history? Or would you just recommend adding it as an absolute value to the deflection history graph?

PGSplice doesn't have any accommodation for precamber. You can add the formed camber shape into the deflection history.

The software is not going to account for the effect of precamber on the tendon geometry, stress analysis, and shear capacity.

You might want to check out the current PCI Journal for a discussion for designing precambered girders. Most of the information will apply to post-tensioning of a single piece.
