WSDOT Girder Schedule Report

Hi Rick,

I have two questions for the WSDOT Girder Schedule Report produced from PGSuper:

1. What do P1 and P2 in the report stand for?
2. The transverse reinforcement information are shown as ###. Is it because I changed the transverse reinforcement data and it does not match what is shown in the girder library?

Thanks,
Yan Liu

WSDOT Girder Schedule

P1 and P2 are the distance from the ends of the girder to the CL of the bearing recess. See Bridge Standard Drawing 5.6.A6.2 (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/publications/fulltext/Bridge/Web_BSD/5.6_A6_2.pdf). Look at the "Girder Plan" detail.

The transverse reinforcement information is shown as ### when the transverse reinforcement does not conform to WSDOT Standard Drawings. The footnote at the bottom of the girder schedule information will define the meaning of ### for your case.

WSDOT Grider Schedule Report

Mine is slab girder so there is no P1 and P2 on WSDOT standard drawing. Does that mean P1 and P2 do not apply for slab girder? The report does give me a P1 number, but not P2 though. I put 6" End Distance at both ends for Pier/Span connections. This girder is the end girder of a 5 span continuous span bridge.

I have Zone 1, 2, 3 and 4 with Zone 4 to the middle of span, which seems match WSDOT standard drawings. I also tried to change transverse reinforcement data to match what is shown in the girder library. Still the transverse reinforcement information are shown as ###.

Thank you for your help.

P1/P2 do not apply to

P1/P2 do not apply to slabs.

There should be a footnote at the bottom of the girder schedule table in the WSDOT Girder Schedule Report. It will state what ### means.

You can post your file it you like.

WSDOT Grider Schedule Report

Yes, the footnote for ### states that reinforcement details could not be listed because the number of transverse reinforcement zone is not consistent with the girder schedule. The girder schedule listed Zone 1, 2 and 3. Now I have Zone 1, 2, 3 and 4 with Zone 4 to the middle of girder to match WSDOT standard drawing5.6-A8-3. I also tried to only use Zone 1, 2 and 3 only but still got ### for transverse reinforcement.

I try to post my file here but do not see how. Do I just reply the email to wbstr@pgsuper.com and attach the file in the email?

Thank you!

You can send me your file

You can send me your file directly.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if the girder schedule report has ###. Use the girder schedule or other means to accurately represent the required stirrup layout for your bridge.

###

You are getting the ### because the transverse reinforcement doesn't match the WSDOT standard girder. Your model is missing an input zone for 1-1/2" at the ends of the girder.

This may be a little picky, but it is what the software is currently doing.

I'll look into this and see if there is a way to improve the software.

Okay. Thank you, Rick!

### error

Rick,
I'm having a similar issue but I changed the transverse reinforcement in the girder using the library editor. Now, the library template and my model both have the same shear reinforcement and number of zones. PGSuper is still giving me the same ### error at the bottom of my schedule. How can I solve this?

Thanks!

### error

This isn't really an error. It only indicates that the way the stirrups are defined is not consistent with the WSDOT Girder Schedule. To get rid of the ### notation, change the stirrup into so that it is consistent with the 3 stirrup zones shows on the WSDOT standard drawings.
