I downloaded version 2.8.0, and the Spec Check and Details reports are not working for me. They only show the heading and no results. A Script Error window comes up which says,

Line: 101
Char: 20
Error: The value of the property 'onde' is null or undefined, not a Function object
Code: 0
URL: file:///C:/Users/matt.metzger/AppData/Local/Temp/TMP1728.HTM
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

and clicking 'yes' does not seem to change anything.

Any Advice?

This one is new to me. Are you running on a new computer, or did older versions of PGSuper work on the same machine?

My best guess is that security settings in IE, or Windows are not allowing the simple JavaScript functions used by PGSuper to run.

Which version of Windows and Internet Explorer are you running, and what virus checking software?

I am using a new computer, and it's the first time I've tried to run PGSuper on it.
I'm using Windows 7
IE 11
ESET Endpoint Antivirus

There are many windows 7 / IE 11 boxes running PGSuper successfully, so that's not the problem. I still have to think that your security settings are blocking JavaScript from running in the browser. Here is an article that shows how to enable JavaScript in IE:

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/howtoscript

If that doesn't work, try going the folder in Windows Explorer where the .HTM file is from the error message. Then drag that file directly into IE. If the same problem occurs, then it's likely browser settings or your antivirus settings.

I followed the steps in the article, but found the same problem. Then I dragged the file directly into IE, and saw the same report title with no additional content, and a gold bar at the bottom said,
"Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls."
Clicking "Allow blocked content" doesn't show any additional content.

If you have administrator

If you have administrator rights on the computer, try running PGSuper as an administrator by right-clicking on the program icon and selecting run as administrator. This might give some clues into the problem.

When I try to create the report from within the program, after the initial error message comes up (first comment in this string), if I click 'yes,' Another error message comes up which says,
"C:\PROGRAM FILES(X86)\WSDOT\PGSUPER\IMAGES\TITLE_PAGE_ART.GIF is not a valid file for this application. Please select a different file.

We got it resolved. It was a problem on our end. On our server, we accidentally had a special character in the project folder name where the file was saved. Once this was removed, the reports were created just fine.

Can you please give a little more detail so that we can reproduce the problem on this end? We want to find a way to make the software work with the special character so it wont be a problem for the next guy.

Thanks,
Rick

The special character was a

The special character was a long dash. I believe it was an em-dash. When the same file was saved onto the desktop or any folder without the em-dash in the folder-name, PGSuper created the reports. Once the same file was saved in a folder with the em-dash, it could no longer create reports.

Are there any other details that would be helpful for you to know?

Thanks, that is really helpful.

I'll try to get this fixed in the next version.
