News Release - December 1, 2011 - BridgeSight Software signs contract with the Kansas Department of Transportation Bridge Division to customize the open source girder design program PGSuper to fit KDOT's needs for LRFD precast/prestressed girder design. When completed, KDOT will have a custom girder design program that is tailored to meet their needs at a fraction of the cost to develop software from scratch.
This release contains many new features, but probably the most important are new capabilities for designing and reporting for multiple beams simultaneously. Users can now select multiple beams in a bridge to be designed, and streamlined multi-beam spec check results give you the power to easily compare results. Below is a list of some of the more important new features.
We just added a new PGSuper configuration to make it easier for engineers working on MoDOT projects to use PGSuper. The configuration includes the most common precast I sections used by MoDOT including:
We just added a new PGSuper configuration to make it easier for CalTrans engineers to use PGSuper. The configuration includes the most common precast secions used by CalTrans including:
Wide Flange Girders (all shapes)
Bulb Tee Girders with Debonded Strands (all shapes)
This new tutorial demonstrates how to model a touch shoring construction scenario with PGSuper. Touch shoring is used to support precast girders during deck placement to reduce the final stresses in the composite deck and girder system.
