Beam shapes from PCI Northeast with a generic AASHTO LRFD configuration

PGSuper Professional Only

This PGSuper configuration is included with PGSuper Professional and implements PCI Northeast girder shapes. A generic AASHTO LRFD project criteria library is used.

Implemented Girder Shapes

  • Northeast Bulbtee (NEBT) shapes
  • Type D and F Northeast Extreme Bridge Tee (NEXT) shapes using proprietary PGSuper Pro parametric shape which models the NEXT beams precisely and computes live load distribution factors per PCINE recommendations

Assumptions and Limitations

  • Strict AASHTO LRFD interpretation (most recent version implemented in PGSuper). Does not contain agency-specific provisions or interpretations (for example, PennDOT DM-4 interpretation not considered).
  • Distribution factors for type F NEXT beams are cumputed using guidelines for computation may be found at the PCINE web site.
  • Barrier load is distributed to the three outermost girders
  • Girder lifting and hauling are not considered

PGSuper Set Up Instructions

This configuration is included in PGSuper Professional and its use is restricted to licensed users only. PGSuper Professional users can access the configuration as follows:

  • Open PGSuper Professional
  • Click File | Configure PGSuper
  • Select the PGSuper Professional sever
  • Select the PCI NE library
